Abke is the picture of a jumper - incredible form with the utmost elasticity. The jumping course is where he feels at home; ability, leg technique, and bascule exceed all expectations of a jumper. His ability to deal with fences is absolutely phenomenal which brought him spontaneous applause at the 2001 Oldenburg stallion approvals. His sire, Acorado I (Acord II x Corrado), won his stallion performance test and he was shown very successfully as a jumper until his untimely death. The dam's sire, Contender, one of the most time-tested performance makers ever in Holstein, also won his stallion performance test. Raphael, grand dam's sire, is deemed one of the most significant performance makers of our day. Also worth mentioning is the inbreeding component which is found three times over in Ramiro and Cor de la Bryere in the earlier generations. The dam line has produced many good stallions that were also successful in international level dressage. Abke completed his 30 day stallion test with an overall score of 7.953; 7.513 in rideability; 8.350 in jumping talent.
Abke is a strong young stallion with good substance and nice top line. His freedom of shoulder and flat kneed stride should make him interesting for Thoroughbred mares with the eye to the hunter ring. Frozen semen purchased from Yancey Farms.
