Daxx on Halloween 1999

Born in a Wisconsin thunderstorm, Daxx HF was named after a Star Trek Deep Space Nine character. Why? Well, following with Hannoverian tradition, he needed to have a name starting with D, just like his sire. And, Daxx has a cute star on his forehead that is the shape of the Star Trek logo!

Daxx will be turning 7 years old this winter! Time has flown since he was born, and it is amazing how he's grown.

Showing

Daxx was shown since he was a weanling at Dressage Breed shows. He was undefeated as a weanling, and continued winning his Yearling year. Together, Daxx and his dam, April, won the Warmblood Mares and Foals class at an AHSA/USDF Dressage Breed show, against Warmblood mares half April's age! Daxx has won several Breeding classes, and never has placed lower than third. Daxx was also named Grand Champion Gelding at his final show his Yearling year. The Wisconsin Dressage and Combined Training Association awarded him their 1996 Reserve Champion Yearling Award as well.

In 1997, Daxx was named Grand Champion Sport Horse Gelding at his very first show of the year! Not bad! Not only has he done well in his classes, but he and his sister, La Championita, have won me Breeder's Group and Produce of Dam classes.

Daxx was shown under saddle during the summer of 1999 in his very first AHSA Dressage show. Trainer Patricia Becker showed Daxx in Training Level Tests 2 and 3, and he placed 3rd and 2nd, with scores of 62.9% and 64%. Not bad for his first time out!!

 Pedigree

Daxx is a decendent of the famous Hannoverian D-line. His sire, DIAMONT, is the nation's leading Hannoverian sire for producing USDF qualifiers, with the USDF. DIAMONT himself showed through the FEI levels of dressage with his owner, Judy Williams-Ehlers. DIAMONT has produced several licensed sons, including Daric, Deutchmeister, Donnerkeil, and the newly licensed stallion, Dumont.

The D-line of Hannoverian's traces back to the famous Celle stallion, DUELLANT (1946 - 1965). He, Duellant, was the chief stud horse at Celle for a number of years. Known for his expression and tremendous movement. Duellant bloodlines was used in every breeding region in Germany. Duellant's most influencial son was DUFT II, sire of Durkheim.

Bleep xx, an English Thoroughbred, is also found in Daxx's pedigree. Bleep xx won the highly coveted King George V of England Cup in consecutive years. Bleep xx is present in the pedigree of many of today's successful Hanoverian's.
