Franat, Holsteiner StallionFranat

Franat is owned by Gordon and Kathy Peterson of Highland, Michigan, and stands at their Hartland Equestrian Center.

Pedigree

Franat is the perfect example of the traditional Holsteiner type. He is a representative of the F-line of Holsteiners. Franat's sire, FASOLT, is the son of FARNESE, who also produced Farmer, and Olympic medal winning show jumper, and Amigo, an international jumper. Franat's dam, JOVIS, is also the dam of CALGARY, twice the young event horse of the year in Germany, and who is now standing stud for the Holsteiner Verband in Schleswig-Holstein. JOVIS' sire is LADYKILLER XX, considered to be the most sucessful improvement sire in Europe. Ladykiller XX is the sire of the world reknown stallion, Landgraf I. JOVIS' dam, SALMEI, is also the mother of Christine Stueckelberger's Dressage Champion, GRANAT.

Franat has the distinction of being the most purebred Holsteiner stallion standing here in the US, as the F-line carries the highest percentage of pure Holsteiner blood in existance today. The F-line traces back to the foundation stallions Achill and Ethelbert. The Achill line is the last line that traces directly back to the three Yorkshire foundation sires. The F-line is very important due to this fact. FRANAT is the only son of FASOLT standing here in the United States.

Prepotence

Franat is an exceptional stallion, improving each mare bred to him. Franat passes along his impressive front end and highset neck, solid and correct foundation with big, strong hooves, impressive movement, outstanding jumping ability, and an increase in overall size and substance.

Franat offspring not only posses wonderful movement, but Franat also passes along incredible jumping talent. Franat offspring Belle and Freeze Frame are currently showing. Franat offspring are making excellent hunters, show jumpers, and event horses, as well as incredible dressage horses.  Franat's daughter Vi Nat is a USDF Silver Medal winning Dressage horse, successfully showing at Fourth Level.  Congratulations to Franat's son FINN, owned by Mary Ruth Keough, TX, winner of the 1998 AHHA Grand Champion Combined Training Award at Novice Level, for his spectacular achievements in Eventing.

Congratulations also to ISLAND DANCER, for her Reserve Championship at the Ohio Mare Approvals for the AHHA in 1998!! Island Dancer is the dam of the AWR stallion, Riverdancer.

Franat in Extended TrotFranat

Franat is an excellent choice to cross on American Thoroughbred mares. He consistently improves each mare bred to him, adding bone, improving the movement and conformation, and imparting a wonderful temperament. With such excellent bloodlines tracing back for so many years, it is important that we continue this bloodline.
