typey gelding. He has very solid conformation and a
super topline. His disposition
is excellent, he's very friendly and super sweet.
He has a very small star
like his older brother, Remarkable.
He is a dark black bay like
his sister Lizette.

Ima is a near black Thoroughbred mare, born in 1987. She was imported from Canada early in 1997 by her former owner, and was subsequently sold to me. She is approved for breeding with the CSHA, ISR, Oldenburg NA, and American Hanoverian Society.
Ima is a Premium Mare with the International Sporthorse Registry and Oldenburg Verband North America, as well as with the American Hanoverian Association. Dr. Ramsauer commented that this mare stamps her offspring with her excellent type and topline. She has produced 7 Premium foals for the ISR, and was entered into their star award program in 2000, earning two stars out of three. Her foals include Wvalentino SG, Wrayn SG, Wishful Thinking SG, Wallaby SG, Wynovation SG, Remarkable HF, and Lizette.
At Ima's Hanoverian Mare approval, she was the 3rd highest scoring mare at the inspection, of 40 mares of ALL BREEDS presented!! Very impressive for a Thoroughbred mare!
The stars following her name are awards
from the ISR. The first star is awarded to a mare that attains Premium
Mare Status (*/-/-_. The second star is awarded to any mare that produces
at least 3 Premium foals (-/*/-). Ima has to date (2001) produced 7 Premium
foals. The last star that Ima will earn is for Success of Offspring (-/-/*).
Mares can earn this star by either producing two daughters that are Premium
mares, two Certified Breeding stallions, or by producing horses with high
performance records. I Must Fly will earn this last star in another
year or two.

We bred Ima in 1998 to Hilltop Farm's Holsteiner stallion, Riverman, and she delivered a stunning steel gray colt on April 27, 1999 that we named REMARKABLE. Remarkable is an 8.0 premium foal, and was the 1999 ISR Midwest Grand Champion Colt!! He earned scores of 8.5 on his type and conformation. He is an approved breeding stallion with the Rheinland Pfalz Saar International and the American Warmblood Registry. Remarkable earned his RPSI licensure in the fall of 2001 as a two year old and his AWR approval the fall of his 3-yr old year.
I Must Fly passes along to her offspring her wonderful disposition, strong topline, excellent conformation, and elegant gaits. All of her offspring have attained Premium status with the International Sporthorse Registry / Oldenburg Registry North America. Ima has a foal in 2000 by the outstanding Holsteiner Verband owned stallion, Linaro. Linaro is a first class show jumping stallion!! She presented us with an outstanding filly in the image of Linaro on May 5, 2000. This filly, Lizette, earned an 8.5 Premium foal award at her inspection from Dr. Karsten Kuehl, with a 9.0 on conformation and type! Lizette was named the 2000 Midwest Grand Champion Filly on September 3, 2000 !!! That is 2 for 2 for Ima's Midwest-born foals!!
Lizette -- Sold
Lizette was 2nd in our Zone for Yearling Hunter Breeding, 2001!
Ima comes from very good Thoroughbred bloodlines. Her sire line traces indirectly back to the stallions War Relic and Man O' War. Her sire line also carries the blood of Teddy, Black Toney, Princequillo, Nasrullah, and Nearco.
Ima's sire, I REALLY WILL XX, is indirectly related to the extremely popular European Thoroughbred stallion, LADYKILLER XX, who is the sire of many European Warmblood stallions, including Landgraf I, great-grandsire to La Championita and grandsire to Lizette. Ima's sire line has at least four crosses to Man O' War, and two crosses each to Princequillo, Black Toney, and Teddy. These bloodlines are documented as producing Grand Prix jumpers and top level eventers, including MAXIMUM CLEARANCE, a TB stallion showing at Grand Prix; TOUCH OF CLASS, world reknown show jumper; JJ BABU, EPIC WIN, OUT & ABOUT, TRUE BLUE GIRDWOOD, SQUELCH, MURPHY HIMSELF, and PRINCE PANACHE -- all successful and world reknown Advanced level Event horses.
Her dam, BETTER FLY XX, also traces directly back to the stallions Man O' War, Nasrullah, and Nearco, as well as indirectly tracing to Black Toney and Teddy. Her dam is also indirectly related to the immortal stallion LADYKILLER XX. Her mare line alone has three crosses to Man O' War, three to Black Toney, and two to Teddy. These stallion lines are known for producing good jumping horses, and are sought after by top jumper breeders both in the United States and in Europe.
As with all Thoroughbreds, Ima's pedigree traces back directly to the foundation stallions of the thoroughbred breed, the Godolphin Arabian, Darley Arabian, and the Byerley Turk:
The Darley Arabian, foaled around 1700, was a horse of exceptional beauty. He came from Aleppo in Syria, where the finest Arabians were believed to be bred. He was shipped to England by the Counsel in Aleppo, Thomas Darley. Put to stud at Aldby in East Yorkshire, he founded one of the most important male lines, which includes such names as Phalaris and St. Simon. He died at the age of 30.

Offspring
Ima was bred by her former owner to the Oldenburg stallion, Wallenstein, a son of the internationally known jumper stallion Winchester, ridden by Ian Miller of Canada. This cross has produced 5 Premium foals, as well as wonderful jumping horses. Her oldest son, Wallaby, stands 17.2 hands and is showing on the jumper circuit Her son Wvalentino is 17.0 hands at 3 years and is in dressage training. Daughter Wynovation was the overall Grand champion Jumper for the 1999 Vancouver Island Winter series. She has won multiple championships over fences. Daughter Wrayn, below, was Champion of her Oldenburg Verband Mare approvals at the age of three.
Wrayn
From her Breeder:
Wrayn has turned out magnificent this year. She is broke and going and I have been free jumping her and she has tons of Talent. I have been putting her over five feet at three foot spreads and she just glides over them with unbelievable room to spare. I truly think she will be like her sisters in the athletic department.. Her body has gotten so much bone and she has grown and is about 16.2H. Every where I take her people always comment on her. She is very sensitive and yet very kind. She is so uncomplicated to ride and seems to take everything in stride. I love riding her on trails...she is so much fun. I have been kind of riding her endurance just to get the miles on her and she does everything so well going thru rivers and up and down steep hills and over small bushes...I think she has as much fun as I do.
Wrayn has been sold to
Colorado
She is going to be used as a hunter, and they are
going to also be breeding her.
Ima is already a grandmother! Her beautiful daughter, Wishful Thinking foaled a gorgeous filly that scored 8.5 at her inspection. Her daughter, Wrayn, is also a Premium mare candidate, having scored an 8.0 at her inspection. See photos below. Wrayn will be presented to the ISR in Spring 2001. Ima's youngest daughter, Lizette, is also a Premium mare candidate, scoring an overall 8.5 as a foal. Ima's son, Remarkable, is expecting his first foal crop in 2003.
