Cartouche HF earns Star Predicate!
Our KWPN registered gelding Cartouche HF, by Sir Donnerhall, out of Leolita Ster/Sport D, attended the recent KWPN inspection at Finishing Touches Farm in Genoa City WI. Cartouche HF was presented and earned a First Premium designation and also the Ster/Star Predicate. From the KWPN-NA website:
Ster (Star)
An evaluation of mares, geldings and stallions for conformation and functionality combined with movement for dressage types and free jumping for jumper or hunter types. This predicate is awarded at studbook inspection to stallions, mares and geldings that have earned a first premium. Minimum height for star is 160cm.
Horses are first measured for minimum height. After measuring, each horse is presented to the judges in hand on a hard surface to evaluate their conformation and movement. After the hard surface presentation, horses are then presented at liberty to view the gaits at freedom. Cartouche HF earned excellent scores for his conformation and movement to earn this predicate. Cartouche HF is the first offspring of his dam, Leolita Ster/Sport D, to be presented for Ster. Leolita Ster/Sport D needs a total of 3 Ster offspring to earn her Preferent Predicate. We are proud to have our gelding be the first of her offspring to count towards her future predicate.
Cartouche HF can now be refered to as Cartouche HF Ster.
Additionally, Cartouche HF Ster was awarded the coveted orange ribbon as the High Score dressage horse at the Keuring!
We again would like to thank Katie Brown of Green Mountain Sport Horses for allowing us the breeding lease her special mare, Leolita Ster/Sport D.

Storms!
Huge storms rolled through Wisconsin this past weekend leaving flooding and damage all across the state. We fair pretty good overall, no real flooding, despite the over 5" of rain we received. However, one of our big maple trees split in half, so we've been working on cutting it up and getting rid of it. What a mess and such a sad loss, it was a huge older Norway maple, probably 60 feet tall or more.
Lyrical and Oliver!
We've been having an absolute blast this summer working with Oliver and Lyrical. Lyrical is coming back after having the winter off and is picking everything back up right where she left off. Oliver is doing super, very much enjoying his training. We took some fun photos last night of Bri on Oliver, and thought we'd share them. Check out Oliver's photo album and Lyrica'ls photo album.
Gerd Zuther Sporthorse Evaluation Seminar
Saturday June 19 I took our 3yr old filly Sophia Loren HF to Belleville for the Gerd Zuther Sporthorse Evaluation seminar, which was sponsored by Wisconsin Dressage & Combined Training Association. Sophia was one of the demo horses used to discuss conformation and movement in sport horses. I'm happy to say that Sophia was very well mannered for her hour in the arena, and showed herself off like a seasoned show horses. Thank you to Bobbie for helping me. Sophia loves you now!
Check out Sophia's photo album.
