Happy New Year
Happy New Year! Another year has passed and we'd like to thank our customers who have purchased horses from us. Please keep in touch and let us know how they are doing!
We are finalizing our 2006 breeding plans for the girls. Ripley, our TB mare, has another date with Sempatico M, who sired her gorgeous 2005 colt Soxx Appeal. As for the other ladies, well, I'm still trying to make up my mind!
Willow sold (Dec. 05)
Congratulations to Kaleb Northrup on his purchase of Will O The Wisp HF! Willow and another mare will become foundation broodmares for his farm!
New forum, new address!
We have upgraded our forum, and you can find us here!
GOV awards Premium for Lyrical! (Sept. 18)
Our lovely filly Lyrical Champion by Royal Dance out of La Championita earned a Premium award today at her Oldenburg Verband inspection! I will add some of the comments from the inspectors shortly.

Soxx Appeal HF sold (Sept. 15)
Congratulations to Janet C. from PA on her purchase of Soxx Appeal HF! This colt has been very popular lately and Janet was smart enough to grab him before someone else did! Mr. Soxx is her new dressage & stallion prospect.
Tornado footage
We obtained via email some video footage shot of the tornado that just missed our farm and hit Oregon and Stoughton. It's a huge file, 26.4 megs, and I will warn you that it is full of swear words, but it is also incredible footage of what just missed our farm, about 1/4 mile south of us. If you would like to see it, drop me and email and I'll send you the link. The huge size of the file and the bandwidth it sucks to view it means I do not want to make the link public.
Gold and Silver flow for Hopeful Farm's foals! (August 31)
Our annual RPSI inspection was conducted yesterday at Chimera Farm. I was pleased to co-host the inspection with Pam from Chimera, and we had a great time.
We're very proud to announce that our colt Oleander HF, by Opus, out of Will O The Wisp HF, was Site Champion Colt and winner of the Midwest Breeders Group Foal Award - Colt. "Oliver" earned an 8.4 on movement, 8.0 on type, for an overall 8.2 Gold Premium! He earned super comments for his lovely type and very good movement.
Also, our lovely colt Star Struck HF, by Stedinger, out of Replikah HF, was Reserve Ch. colt with 8's for all scores and also a Gold Premium! This is Replikah's second foal, and her second Gold Premium foal.
And not to be completely out shone was Soxx Appeal HF, who earned an 8.4 for type. His momma was very naughty and ran him around at a gallop for about 10 minutes before we could catch her, so Soxx didn't have much left to show for movement, and his overall score was 7.8 for a Silver Premium.
Cantanea also earned a Silver Medal. The judge liked her and commented that she was a little growthy at the moment which affected her movement, but she was good feminine type and good movement. Her good score made her the Reserve Champion filly!
Mares not in foal (Aug. 25)
It certainly has been a bad year for breeding. We had 2 mares in foal this spring, but Replikah lost her pregnancy about a month ago. None of the other mares cooperated to become pregnant, with Ripley having an erradic heat, Willow had retained her placenta (but is fine). Our mare Cece is in foal to Balou, so it will be a very small foal crop of 1 next year.
Bruiser sold, Roo and Bruiser shipped out! (Aug. 25)
Congratulations to Regina A on her purchase of Royal Champion HF; and Glenda M for her purchase of Outrageous HF! Both boys shipped together on Tuesday to their new homes, as they both were headed in the same direction! We heard that they both arrived in good shape and are settling into their new homes. Roo will be prepared for stallion approvals and a dressage career, and Bruiser is also headed for a dressage career! Congratulations, we already miss the boys!
Shorthorse Studios out for photos of the babies! (Aug. 15)
We had ShortHorse Studios out on Friday for picture day! You will see lots of new photos of the foals on our website!
Replikah lost her pregnancy (August 12)
Replikah lost her Rosentanz pregnancy. She came into heat this week so I asked the vet to check her and she definately lost it. I'm so bummed.
Roo - clean vetting, Ripley bred (Aug. 3)
Roo passed his pre-purchase exam yesterday, with 34 x-rays, all clear. He will be leaving us the end of September for Missouri!
Ripley was bred this passed weekend to the Hanoverian stallion Abke, by Accorado I. We check Grace on Monday to see if she is in foal to Fidertanz (fingers crossed please!)
Eeyore news! (July 27)
Super news about Weltissimo/Eeyore:
Hooray for Eeyore some more! We just got back from the Circle City AA Horse Show--indoors at the Indianapolis Coliseum. Eeyore was fabulous! His best ribbons were: The blue ribbon in the Hack Class Of Doom (too many horses, not enough space)! We lost three horses and riders to bucking, mishaps, kicks and injuries! Eeyore was surely the best mover left standing at the end of the class. Collisions do not bother him. And a second place in a Modified Adult class over fences against some absolutely gorgeous horses and riders.
Eeyore's arena was not air conditioned and it was ungodly hot all week. It was the spookiest ring--junk, tractors, stalls, machines, bleachers and a trade fair surrounding it. Eeyore is apparently over his bleacher-o-phobia. The ring was too small to attempt flying changes, so we were in the running for ribbons over fences only when we accidentally landed on all our leads. Eeyore got tired and unhelpful on one afternoon, but responded to a cranky (I, too, was hot and unhelpful) kick in the ribs and swat on the fanny. I did my own riding, so Eeyore is winning at four years of age with the amateur on board! Eeyore gets a couple of days off now.

Fifth, Soxx Appeal HF now has his own page!
Colt for Willow! (July 13)
Miss Willow gave us a gorgeous bay colt on July 13, at 10:30 pm. He is sired by Opus who is by Olympic Idocus. This darling colt is sabino! He has a star, big snip on his nose, with a lower white lip, 3 socks, and a skunk tail! He is, of course, offered for sale. Here is Oleander HF, or 'Oliver'

More Eeyore news! (July 5)
Wonderful news about Weltissimo, the Werbellin gelding we bred and sold! He's winning on the AA circuit!
Eeyore is terrific!
He spent all last week at the "AA" Waterloo show in Michigan, and he was fabulous. He won two under saddle classes and one class over fences, plus a nice selection of lower ribbons throughout the week. He was Reserve Champion Baby Green!
Eeyore showed every day, which is a lot of work for a youngster. He always jumped beautifully, with both [of us]. He got some nice flying lead changes early in the week--hence the ribbons! Later in the week, he got tired and we reverted to simple lead changes. He never spooked at a jump--just marched into every ring and jumped around. He spooked at a couple of tractor/watering trucks only on his longest, hottest day, when I think he got a little cranky. It was ghastly, miserably hot.
Hurray for Eeyore, Baby Green Reserve Champ!!
~Lisa
French Kiss HF - Isn't he gorgeous! (June 28) and FILLY for Grace!
It's a filly for Grace, by Royal Dance! She is exquisit! Gorgeous head, long legs, just a darling! I will get photos soon!

Cece in foal to Balou de Rouet (June 21)
We checked Cece today and she had twin pregnancies. We have pinched one successfully!
Surprise! Ripley foals early! (June 8)
Ripley suprised us by dropping her colt a full 2 weeks early, and no signs of impending birth. Her bag was small, no wax.
He's an adorable polka-dotted pinto by Sempatico! Check him out on Ripley's page. He is for sale. We need an S-name too....

Eeyore Champion at his show again! (June 6)
We just received a super update on Eeyore (Weltissimo)
Dear Stephanie,
Eeyore's a star! We did a local show last weekend, and Eeyore was champion in an open schooling divison (with Nora riding). He was equally good for me in another division, but Nora's starting to get Eeyore to do flying changes and I don't really attempt it yet. He won all his flat classes.
Eeyore is jumping great and is actually (reluctantly) getting a little fitter. At the end of June he goes to the big "AA" Waterloo show for a whole week. The competition will probably be a bit much for Eeyore at his stage of training, but I expect he'll jump and behave very well.
So Eeyore says hi! I'm wonderful! I get a two-day vacation!

Clinic for Cece (June 6)
Cece and I had a lovely clinic this past Sunday with FEI trainer Patricia Becker. The emphasis was on straightness. Most of the riders stayed on a 20 m circle for most of their ride, working on straightening the horses to get them more through.
I slowly warmed up - it was ungodly hot and humid - working on straightness, etc. We moved into the excercises on a 20m when it was my ride. My mare was really good, and we then moved into some lateral work. Started with 10m to SI. She helped me with some weaness, to work SI to renvers and back, to help my mare with her weakness. Great excercise/homework for us. We then worked on HI, which I've only recently introduced to this mare. It went really, really well, got some good reminders on the bend, etc, lots of "YES! Super! "
Then we moved on to canter. Mare was getting tired and threw every trick/evasion in the book at me, but ended up with a very nicely balanced canter. The departs were rather eh, but in the end, we got them much more balanced. I showed Patti our start towards half pass, how I like to go 10m to SI to a few steps of HP to a 10m to SI, and how that often really helped our canter departs. Got the thumbs up that I should continue my work (*whew*) with the added comments to move her into a leg yield as needed. She thought the travers to renvers would also help strengthen for HP. Fun stuff! Cece even had fun, she loves to work and she loves the attention.
Cece was bred last week to Balou de Rouet! We will find out mid-June if she is in foal. If she is, this will be our third generation for our breeding program!
Happy Birthdays! (June 3)
Grace us 9 today! Happy birthday to my pretty mare.
Martha M send me this birthday photo of Remarkably Fine (by Remarkable), who turned two in April. Quite the handsome fellow!

Replikah is IN FOAL to Rosentanz! (May 23)
![]()
Replikah was confirmed in foal to day to Rosentanz! Rosentanz is a Hanoverian stallion by Rohdiamant out of a Sao Paulo mare:
ROSENTANZ: A top Premium stallion at the 2003 approval in Verden. An extremely extravagant, highly modern sport stallion with outstanding movement mechanics and well over average jumping. Rosentanz became 1d premium stallion in Verden, then approved in Oldenburg, and in Denmark he became runner-up at the stallion licensing in Hernig. This sensational beauty opened his breeding season 2004 by winning the 30 days test in Münster Handorf, Germany out of 25 young stallions. Rosentanz also won the dressage dicipline and scored 9 for temperament, 9.5 for ridability and 10 for character! His scores for walk and trot were the highest out of the lot of 25 stallions and his score for canter second best!
Banners - free jewelry?!
You may notice some stragetically placed banners on the site, for instance...
![]()
I stumbled across this site and am totally addicted. Sterling silver jewelry for the price of shipping? Yeah, I can have fun with this! I love jewelry and am often times afraid to wear my really nice jewelry for fear of losing it. Semi-precious stones and sterling silver, fun! Enjoy! I received my first pieces in the mail and they are beautiful - a lovely peridot pendant (peridot is pictured in this banner), and some blue topaz pieces.
Next to foal is Ripley!
Next in line for foaling is our TB mare Ripley, due mid-June. She's really slowing down now in her last month. She's in foal to the recently imported Sempatico, a homozygous pinto warmblood standing now at Silverwood Farm. This year is his first US foal crop. This foal is guaranteed pinto, and is for sale now, for a substantial discount before she foals! Not too many Sempatico's are popping up for sale, so take a good look at our mare and consider buying her foal in-utero.
Next week we check Replikah to see if she's in foal. Fingers are crossed. I have my doubts, but I'm trying to be optimistic. Perhaps I need to bribe her with stories of succulent bran mashes with bits of apple and carrots cut up and mixed in with a dash of molasses??
Eeyore update! (May 9)
Mr. Eeyore ( aka Weltissimo) is doing well showing this year! We received this nice update from his owner:
![]()
Eeyore went to a B-rated show this weekend, and I'm very proud of him! He was excellentGood Job Eeyore!!
on Friday (practice day)--jumped right aroudn the course despite traffice problems
(ponies, ponies and more ponies dashing around like maniacs). On Saturday he got a
first and two seconds, due to good jumping and a couple of very lucky lead changes.
Replikah bred to Rosentanz (May 9)
Well I picked Replikah up this past Friday from the vet clinic where she was inseminated with frozen semen from the German Hanoverian stallion Rosentanz. Rosentanz is by Rohdiamant out of a Sao Paulo mare. Fingers are crossed that she will cooperate and we'll be having one of the first Rosentanz foals of 2006!

New photos of Star Struck HF (May 2)
We shot some short video on Saturday, and my friend Sarah was able to grab some images from the video, of our Stedinger (Sandro Hit - Landadel) - Replikah (Regulus - Action Battle xx) colt, Star Struck HF. Enjoy!
Star Struck is for sale! We expect him to be a wonderful horse for either dressage or jumping. His diverse pedigree offers talent in both disciplines. He was bred to be a versitile horse.

Stalls nearly done! And a Happy Birthday! (April 27)
The stalls in the new barn are nearly done! We added 5 more spacious stalls in the new barn, for youngsters and open mares. Each stall is 11'3" x 14' or larger. Now all I have to do to finish them is - staining, installing the feeders & bucket holders (post staining), re-level (again!) the floors, and mat them. It never ends! I'll definately need to take some photos as they are beautiful.
Happy Birthday to Mr. Eeyore (aka Weltissimo), who turns a whole 4 years old today! He shared his birthday with his late brother, Remarkable, who would have been 6 today.

That sneaky Replikah mare foaled in the middle of the day, in the pasture, with no warning! It's a handsome colt! Black bay, with a cute little stripe on his face! Meet Star Struck HF. Star Struck is sired by Stedinger (Sandro Hit - Landadel - Futuro) - the approval winner of the 2002 German Oldenburg Stallion Days, and the sire of the 2004 German Champion Filly!

Eeyore Update! (Mar. 30)
We have another wonderful update on Weltissimo, aka "Eeyore" (Werbellin - I Must Fly xx) as he continues his hunter career!
They had too many horses and cancelled some of our classes, meaning that Eeyore got into the ring to show ALONE in the SCARY ARENA only once a day for two days (no classes on Saturday). Once is not enough. Eeyore jumped some very nice jumps and lines, but it was all Nora and I could do to get him to hop sideways down the line along the Hideous-Horse- Eating-Bleachers. He got first and second in his hack classes. I'm really pleased with his behavior otherwise; even the horses-in-a-blender schooling area doesn't phase him. And we never bothered to lunge him--just hopped right him on in cold, rainy weather. We just needed more classes in a row to get him used to the arena.Congratulations and keep up the great work!
Anyway, Eeyore is doing great. He's starting to pop out lead changes, though I won't really work on them until we can practice outside in a bigger ring. His next show is the first week in May, which is outside. The show gave four-foot-tall stuffed bunnies as prizes, in honor of Easter (I hope), so there was a table near the in-gate with huge rabbits on it. Many horses were spooked, but Eeyore marched right over and nearly ingested an Easter Bunny belonging to the First Year Champion (whoever that was). Should I have put huge stuffed bunnies in the bleachers? Maybe!
--Lisa A. & Eeyore
Willow For Sale
Here is an opportunity for someone to purchase a quality, proven warmblood broodmare at a reasonable price. We are offering our Oldenburg mare Willow for sale. She is ISR/Oldenburg, RPSI, and Westfalen Main Mare books approved. She has super bloodlines, sired by ES Walk on Top (ES Waldorf - Werze v. Woermann) out of a daughter of Gibraltar (Graf Douglas/Grande - Traunstain). She has produced 3 foals with #4 on the way this year by the hugely successful sire Opus. 2 of her 3 have sold. Her foals all have her beautiful face and lovely type, and are so friendly. Willow is in foal to the Dutch sire, Opus by Idocus, for a July foal. You may purchase her now in foal, or purchase her open and we can assist in breeding her, or maybe we can work out a package deal to sell her back in foal.

Foals coming!
We should be seeing our first foal of the season in a few weeks. The lovely mare Replikah (Regulus - Action Battle) is very heavy in foal to the super German sire STEDINGER (Sandro Hit - Landadel). Stedinger produced the filly foal champion in Germany last year!
2005 RPSI Inspection
We are putting together another inspection for the fall. If you are interested, please contact us. We will need approximately 12 horses.
Custom breeding
If you are interested in a custom foal out of one of our mares we have a few stallions available via frozen semen, in our tank, from top European stallions as well as our own stallion. Or we can arrange a custom foal for you via fresh semen. If you are interested please contact us.
Hollywood sold!
Congratulations to Kimber M of Middleton WI on her smart purchase of our Hollywood. We've had a lot of interest in this flashy youngster in the past few weeks and Kimber decided he was the one for her. Congratulations!
